Taste of East Recap

Dear Blue Streak Friends,

It is with great gratitude that I begin this letter. I am constantly amazed at the depth of dedication and generosity of Blue Streak volunteers, friends and donors. As an organization, we have been able to contribute almost $400,000 to the Jubilee Schools in the form of scholarships. These schools are filling a need and giving hope to many neighborhoods throughout our city.

Dr. Mary McDonald has called us to be the “arms of Christ” for these children. We can do that with our pocketbook, and we can do that with ourselves. If you haven’t had a personal visit to a Jubilee School, please join us on February 14th or March 13th.
You will be surprised, excited and hopefully motivated by what you see. Send an e-mail to Jan.

We have had an exciting and busy Fall and Winter, with numerous fund-raising events. Steve and Kim Fracchia hosted a “crepe party” that was both delicious and informative. The Blue Streak Basketball Tournament welcomed over 80 teams during the first week of January. Jim Cosgrove, “Mr. Stinky Feet”, entertained both the young and young-at-heart in a benefit concert at St. Agnes Academy.

We are gearing up for our annual wine tasting event to be held this year on April 25th at the Pink Palace. FedEx is our generous title sponsor of this event.

Blue Streak has also welcomed several new scholarship sponsors. Thank you!! The cost of a scholarship is $4,000. This is a great way to honor a loved one for a special event or milestone. Coordinate family and friends, your business or school, to create your own scholarship. Anonymous donations are also welcome.

Again, let me say THANK YOU!

Sincerely in Christ,

Bill
